Stand-Out Ingredient for July: Matrixyl Synthe’6

7.16.12 | 2:44 pm

Since their inception, amino acid-based peptides have proven their worth and have become a “must have” ingredient when developing an anti-aging skincare line. Through advancements in peptide synthesis, active ingredient developers have brought to market a wide array of peptides with varying claims and skin benefits. The newest molecule to join the peptide hierarchy is a material called Matrixyl Synthe’6. The peptide contained therein is hands down one of the most exciting advancements to date.

Matrixyl Synthe’6’s novel design targets and stimulates 6 of the skin’s core structural components to provide a strong improvement in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and luminosity. Collagen I, collagen III, collagen IV, laminins, hyluronic acid and fibronectin have been observed, in vitro, to have significant stimulation while in the presence of Matrixyl Synthe’6. In addition to the aforementioned benefits, Synthe’6 stimulates a key collagen-governing material called HSP47. HSP47 is responsible for managing the production of healthy, usable collagen prior to it leaving the fibroblast for use in the dermis. This function is key to producing a robust and mature collagen that is less susceptible to MMP aggression, thus ensuring its utility as a structural component. Synthe’6’s combined attributes result in an efficacy that greatly exceeds expectations and sets the bar much higher than its brethren have the ability to achieve.
